Your welcoming hosts Shannon and Mick
This couple’s food journey too has been a lengthy one, full of highlights.
For Shannon, starting her cookery career at the age of 15, it has meant 35 years of experience, honing skills and developing recipes.
With her career being forged in Brisbane and building an enviable reputation in the club scene there, Shannon has been the recipient of numerous awards, with three major awards in the past fifteen years.
- 2009- Queensland Chefs Table
- 2009- Australian Award for the Best Club Pairing Chef –( Shannon and her apprentice being the first Queensland team to win and another first in being a team of ladies)
- 2014-Club Queensland Chef of the Year- this being awarded for her own Pork Belly dish that Shannon created.
Mick’s love affair with the preparation of good food has spanned thirty two years, the last thirteen with the Brisbane Racing Club ( Doomben / Eagle Farm), where he catered for many high profile events in the racing industry.
Their chosen physical journey to the beautiful heritage township of Oatlands in the Southern Midlands of Tasmania brings their focus on quality food, varied menus and innovative specials, welcoming service, local produce whenever possible, quality coffee, tea and refreshments and the joy of seeing patrons enjoy their meals.
A cosy new home for a couple who delight in offering something special, whether it be the inhouse biscuits, slices and sweet treats or catering for those with special dietary needs or simply looking for a small portion.
